Description
Provides leadership to effectively prepare for, respond to, and recover from a wide array of public health emergencies. Information is available to help individuals prepare for varying types of emergencies including weather, natural disaster, and disease outbreaks.

Primary responsibilities include:
- Developing and integrating all-hazards public health response plans;
- Educating the public and training the county response partners in: Integrated Shelter Support, Isolation and Quarantine, Mass Fatality, Mass Vaccination and Mass Prophylaxis, Medical Surge, and Strategic National Stockpile Plan;
- Conducting drills and exercises to test plans;
- Recruiting, training, and deploying Erie County's Public Health Emergency Response Team and the Specialized Medical Assistance Response Team (SMART).
