Gas Service Payment Assistance, Heating Fuel Payment Assistance
Description
Provides a one time grant to help pay heating costs on a first come, first served basis beginning October 1st of each year until funds are exhausted. The maximum grant is $400. Grant can be used to pay for energy sources such as gas, oil, propane, kerosene, or wood but not for electric assistance.

Monday-Friday, 8:30am-5pm.
Eligibility
In order to qualify for a grant of up to $400 from the Neighbor For Neighbor Heat Fund, applicants must fall into at least ONE of the following classifications:
- Be at least 55 years old
- Be a US Military Veteran
- Have a household member who is handicapped or has a disability that reduces the household's income
- Have a certified medical emergency
- Be receiving unemployment benefits
Applicant must also reside in National Fuel's service territory; however, there is no need to be a National Fuel customer. Applicants must have made an effort to make their utility payments (proof of at least four monthly payments over the past 12 months other than those provided by HEAP or other assistance programs).

Intake Process
Documentation required includes but is not limited to: verification of age, documentation of disability or medical condition, household income information, information regarding household expenses, most recent fuel bill, and documentation of HEAP benefits received or HEAP denial form.
