Description
Provides after school academic assistance designed to meet the specific needs of middle-school students from refugee families. Offers one-on-one homework help and tutoring in reading and math, along with educational and recreational activities, field trips, and opportunities to socialize with friends. A project-based learning curriculum provides a structured atmosphere, allowing for positive enforcement of pro-social behaviors. Book clubs work at each student's ability level to increase their comfort with and love of reading. Also offers a 6-week summer program.

Hours
Monday-Friday, 3pm-6pm. Follows the Buffalo Public Schools calendar.

Eligibility
Buffalo Public School students in grades 6-8 from refugee families.

Intake Process
Call or email; referrals require student's name and grade level, caregiver's name, contact info, ethnicity, and language.

Program Fees
Free.

Languages
English and many other languages spoken.
