Native American General Assistance, Outreach Programs
Description
Provides services for children in need of a temporary home until their parents gain enough stability in their lives to have them returned. The Indian Child Welfare Act (ICWA) is strictly adhered to.
Hours
Monday-Friday, 8:30am-5pm.
Eligibility
NACS certifies foster/adoptive parents of all racial, cultural, and ethnic backgrounds living off-territory in Erie and Niagara Counties.
Prospective foster/adoptive parents can be single or married, and working or a stay at home parent.
Foster/adoptive parents must be:
- Able to provide a child with a safe and stable home
- Adults age 21 and older
- In good general health
- Able to provide references

Intake Process
All children placed in foster care are referred through the Erie or Niagara County Department of Social Services.
