Description
Increasing awareness and access to care for New York State parents to be and new parents, moms, dads and families at risk for or experiencing a perinatal mental health condition by:
- Increasing education, screening, and treatment
- Providing support programs and services
- Training healthcare providers and consumers
- Building community partnerships
Provides a state-wide, toll free and confidential helpline offering emotional support, education, support groups, and healthcare referrals to pregnant and postpartum mothers and fathers and their families experiencing perinatal mental health conditions including perinatal mood and anxiety disorders (postpartum anxiety/depression, obsessive compulsive disorder, PTSD, perinatal psychosis). Parental Mental Health Peer Support Program with free telephone and virtual support group support from Peer Coaches with lived experience of perinatal mental health conditions. Also provides a free Perinatal Mood and Anxiety Disorders (PMAD) State-wide Resource Directory, available online; see website.
Moms and Dads on Call and Family Telephone Support programs are provided by trained volunteers. Circle of Caring support groups and training are provided to healthcare providers and the community.
Information and referral available for issues including miscarriage, stillborn birth, abortion, and adoption; contact for details.
