Description
Provides an after school program, 6 week summer program, reading camp, and teen program.
After School Program: Provides two main components. The first is homework help, along with tutoring in reading and math. The second consists of enrichment activities designed to expose children to new activities and topics. Children receive a healthy snack when they arrive and a meal at the end of the day. Occasional field trips are also provided.
Teen Program: Teens receive homework assistance four days a week and one day a week they spend quality time together as the only group in the building. During the summer, teens have the option to take part in the Mayor Summer Youth Program where they work as Junior Camp Counselors for the younger kids. As part of this program, they also take part in a Job Readiness program.
Summer @ Seneca Street Program: Runs for 6 weeks during the summer. Programming consists of a variety of activities including science, arts and crafts, outdoor activities, gardening, water activities, and sports. Breakfast, snack, and lunch are served daily. Summer Programming runs Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday from 9am-1pm and may include field trips.
Reading Camp: An academically based program that runs for 2 of the 6 weeks of summer programming. Students are divided into age groups that rotate through different stations with age-appropriate academic content. Breakfast, snack, and lunch are provided daily. Children who attend the entire program receive a backpack filled with school supplies for the upcoming school year.
