Early Head Start, Head Start
Description
Offers comprehensive early childhood programs to children and families, which promotes school readiness through a wide array of literacy skills and social, mental, emotional, and physical needs. Parents are the cornerstone of the Head Start Program. The Head Start staff recognizes that parents are the child's first teachers. Encourages parent involvement in all aspects of programming from classroom volunteers to serving on decision-making committees.
Provides safe settings, Kindergarten readiness skills, classroom and home-based experience, hot nutritious meals, health screening, community referrals, transportation, non-violent problem solving skills and day care referrals for children and siblings.

Hours
Monday-Friday, 8am-4:30pm.
Eligibility
Children ages 18 months to 5 years old (in their year prior to kindergarten) who meet the low-income eligibility standards, receive public assistance (TANF, SNAP, or SSI), are homeless, are in foster care, and/or have other at-risk needs.
