Disability Parking Permits
Description
Issues disabled parking permits for City of Buffalo residents. Permanent permits last for 3 years, while temporary permits last 1-6 months.
Hours
Monday-Friday, 8am-4pm.
Eligibility
To be eligible for a permit:
- Must have doctor approval; original copies only.
- Must bring a copy of a state non-drivers Identification card or a copy of a drivers license.
- If someone other than the applicant is bringing in the application, written consent from the applicant is needed.

Intake Process
Applications can be mailed or submitted in person. The applicant completes part 1 of the application, and their doctor completes part 2.
To receive an application:
- Download an application from the DMV website: https://dmv.ny.gov/forms/mv6641.pdf
- Call to request an application from the office.
- Stop by the office.
To renew a permit, contact the office (by phone or in person) the month that the permit expires. Temporary permit renewal must be approved by the applicant's doctor.
