Description
Provides literacy programs to persons 18 years or older. Trained volunteers are matched to adult students looking to improve their reading, writing, or English skills as well as to prepare for their GED exam. Also provides basic computer literacy, workplace preparation, and life skills training. Tutor and student pairs meet for a minimum of 2 hours per week in a public location. Professional staff supports the student/tutor pair to ensure time is used effectively and appropriate gains are made.
Operates an onsite used book store to provide financial support to the program. Donations welcome.
