Description
Issues U.S. passports and foreign visas to traveling Americans, as well as handling passport renewals and correcting printing errors on recently issued passports.
Passport agencies and centers (such as the Buffalo Passport Agency) are available to help customers who need a U.S. passport for international travel within 2 weeks or a foreign visa within 4 weeks; otherwise, customers can apply at an acceptance facility or renew by mail. Hours
Buffalo Passport Agency: Monday, 9am-4pm; Tuesday-Friday, 8am-4pm; by appointment only, except for passport corrections. Closed federal holidays.
National Passport Information Center: Representatives available Monday-Friday, 8am-10pm; Saturday, 10am-3pm. Closed federal holidays.

Eligibility
To apply at the Buffalo Passport Agency, a customer must:
- Be traveling internationally in less than 2 weeks or need to get a foreign visa within 4 weeks
- Be able to show proof of international travel (such as flight itinerary, hotel reservation, cruise tickets, or international car insurance)
- Pay the $60 expedite fee in addition to the regular application fees
- Make an appointment

Intake Process
If any of the following are true of the customer, they must apply in person at an acceptance facility using Form DS-11:
- Applying for first U.S. passport
- Under age 16
- Previous U.S. passport was issued when customer was under age 16
- Previous U.S. passport was lost, stolen, or damaged
- Previous U.S. passport was issued more than 15 years ago
Visit www.travel.state.gov to find the nearest acceptance facility. Some acceptance facilities require appointments while others do not; call facility ahead of time to verify.
If none of the above statements are true, the customer may be eligible to renew by mail using Form DS-82.
For a passport needed for international travel within 14 days, an appointment is required at a passport agency or center. Appointments can be made online. Must bring proof of immediate international travel in the next 14 days, and pay an additional $60 expedite fee.
