Description
Provides services to utility consumers (gas, electric, cable, telephone, some water steam companies) through complaint resolution and investigation. Offers outreach and education to provide consumer education and protection programs. Provides information regarding changes in gas and electric industries such as choosing a marketer or energy service company.

Hotlines:

Toll Free Complaint Helpline takes complaints about billing issues, meter reading, etc., for any public utility.

Emergency Shut-off Hotline is for customers facing electric or gas shut-off within 48 hours. Does not provide financial assistance; rather, ensures that customer rights have been maintained during the shut-off process and educates customers regarding alternate payment arrangements and HEAP in an effort to prevent shut-off.

The Information Line is a tapeline offering instructions on how to choose a gas or electric supplier. Printed information is also available.
