Description
Responsible for providing comprehensive centralized planning, communications, support, and coordination of all critical incident responses within Erie County. Works closely with the entire emergency services and public safety community in Erie County, serving the public and first responders alike. The department has two divisions: Fire Safety and Civil Defense/Disaster Preparedness.

The Fire Safety Division (located at 3359 Broadway, Cheektowaga, NY 14227) is responsible for fire safety and prevention activities and the training of firefighters.

The Division of Civil Defense/Disaster Preparedness (located at 45 Elm Street, Buffalo, NY 14203) executes the county plan for civil defense, disaster relief, preparedness, training, county building security, critical incident response coordination, and support and communications.

Department buildings are not open to the public.

Hours
Office: Monday-Friday, 8am-4pm.

Emergency Line: 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

Fire service, emergency services, local governments, and county residents.
