Description
Responsible for providing comprehensive centralized planning, communications, support, and coordination of all emergency management, fire safety, and emergency medical functions within Erie County. Department is divided in three divisions: Fire Safety, Emergency Medical Services, and Civil Defense/Disaster Preparedness.

The Fire Safety and Emergency Medical Services Divisions are located at 3359 Broadway, Cheektowaga, 14227. These are responsible for fire safety and prevention activities, training of firemen, pre-hospital emergency medical care training for first responders, countywide coordination and dispatch of ambulances, and training of EMTs and paramedics.

Division of Civil Defense/Disaster Preparedness is located at 45 Elm Street, Buffalo, NY 14203. Executes the county plan for civil defense/disaster relief.

Hours
Office: Monday-Friday, 8am-4pm.

24 hours a day, 7 days a week for emergencies.

Eligibility
Fire service, EMS, local governments, and county residents.
