Works to maintain, enhance, and beautify city streets, public facilities, infrastructure, waterways, parks, and other elements of the City of Buffalo. Subdivided into the Engineering Department, Buildings Department, Streets Department, Sanitation Department, Recycling Department, Water Department, and Department of Parks and Recreation.

The Department's Division of Street Sanitation, Vermin, and Animal Control works to rid the city of various types of vermin and pests.

Also operates the city's animal shelter (see separate listing for Buffalo City - Animal Shelter - Department of Public Works, Parks & Streets).

Monday-Friday, 8am-4:30pm.
