Description
Maintains a centralized computer based system and procedures for receiving, processing, and responding to inquiries, service requests, complaints, and suggestions from citizens of the City of Buffalo.
Programs include:
- AmeriCorps VISTA: A national service program designed to alleviate poverty.
- Citizen Participation & Information: Manages the Mayor’s Citizen’s Participation Academy, Mayor’s Tour of Block Clubs, and other ancillary programs.
- Urban Fellows Internship Program: Designed to introduce talented college students and graduates to local government and public service through hands-on practical learning experiences.
- Save Our Streets Program: A task force comprised of various law enforcement and government agencies working to empower residents in the community and improve quality of life in the City of Buffalo by ridding residential properties of drug activity in a collaborative manner.
- Anti-Graffiti & Clean City Program: Graffiti abatement initiative and coordination of Clean City programs.
- Love Your Block: Offers small grants to neighborhood-based organizations in target areas for volunteer projects that reduce blight. Awarded grants are up to $1,500 and can cover projects from lighting vacant lots, to painting murals, to planting a community garden.
