Description
Trains and supports approved volunteers who advocate for the best interests of abused and neglected youth in Family Court in an effort to find them safe permanent homes. Volunteers do not need to be lawyers or social workers to volunteer, but come from all walks of life; the only requirement is a caring attitude for children and common sense. Volunteers will be thoroughly trained and supported by professional staff to provide help through each case.

Hours
Monday-Friday, 8am-4pm.

Eligibility
Clients: Children and youth ages birth to 21 years old who are victims of abuse or neglect.

Volunteers: Must be at least 21 years old, be able to pass extensive reference checks, and commit to spending an average of 10-15 hours per month on one specific case for at least a year. May not be a current foster parent or be in the process of adopting a child from Child Protective Services.

Service Area: Chautauqua County.

Intake Process
Clients: Children and youth are referred by judges based on the outcome of a court appearance.

Volunteers: Call or email Kathy for application or download online. After application is submitted, volunteer will be contacted for a pre-training interview.
