Description
Serves as a Consumer Directed Personal Assistance Program (CDPAP) Facilitating Agency allowing consumers to become the supervisors of their own personal assistant services. A consumer can hire the assistant of their choice (subject to some restrictions), train the assistant in important areas of need, and supervise the assistant's work on a daily basis. If the personal assistant does not work well for the consumer, the consumer may replace the assistant.
Veteran Directed Care (VDC) available for disabled veterans as well.
Also partners with the Department of Aging in surrounding counties to facilitate the "Extended In-Home Services for the Elderly (EISEP)" program which provides an alternative way for seniors receiving home care services to have more control over who provides care and how it is provided. WNYIL handles employment paperwork, assistance with training assistants, and provides support along the way. See separate record for details.
