Description
A peer directed civil rights organization providing a full range of assistance, programs, and services to enhance the quality of life for individuals with disabilities. Assists consumers through individual and systems advocacy, information and referral, educational advocacy, independent living skills, peer services, transitional services (from the nursing home or school age) and support to families and community partnership. Organization is comprised of a family of agencies which include the Independent Living Center (ILC); Independent Living of Niagara County (ILNC); Independent Living of Genesee Region (ILGR); Mental Health PEER Connection (MHPC); Niagara Frontier Radio Reading Service (NFRRS); and Independence Express.
Services include "Taking Control" a consumer-directed personal assistance service (CDPAS), Health Home Care Coordination, Home and Community Based Services, Medicaid Application Assistance, New York Connects, No Wrong Door, Addict 2 Addict, Support Groups, Living Room, and Job Club.
