Self Advocacy Support
Description
Helps people start and maintain self advocacy groups. Holds monthly regional self advocacy meetings, hosts yearly regional conferences, and connects people with statewide and national self advocacy events. Conducts trainings for students and adults with disabilities as well as staff and teachers on self advocacy, self determination, and empowerment; systems advocacy within the service system for people with developmental disabilities and the community. Teaches self determination and self directed services. Teaches disability awareness to disabled and non-disabled people.
