Description
Works to help people with mental illness to obtain and retain affordable housing and other community support services. Assistance is provided in the form of ongoing rent subsidies, peer advocate support (in community), bus passes, security deposits, and some transportation. Peer Advocate Specialists are available in five counties: Cattaraugus, Erie, Chautauqua, Niagara, and Allegany.
Offers two peer-run, short term crisis respites, one for Erie County and another for Chautauqua County, available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week; see separate listings for Eagles Nest Respite and Refreshing Waters Respite.
Serves as a mentor for other peer-run agencies and peer service programs, offering technical assistance and contracted services.

Subject to specific qualifications. Must have AXIS-1 psychiatric diagnosis.
