Home Rehabilitation Programs, Low Income/Subsidized Private Rental Housing
Description
Owns and operates a 27 unit affordable housing project at 376 Urban Street with 25 one-bedroom and 2 two-bedroom rental units. Provides housing rehabilitation loans and grants to eligible low-income homeowners. Provides some commercial assistance, including partnering with developers to redevelop important neighborhood buildings.
BFNHS is co-located with HomeFront, Inc., and services of HomeFront are equally available to customers of BFNHS, including housing counseling for a variety of needs.

Eligibility
Most programs require participants to have incomes below 80% of area median income, adjusted by family size.

Intake Process
For Homeowners: Completion of an initial intake form (available on the website or in the office).
For Renters: Completion of a rental application, including $35 fee for credit report.

Renters & Homebuyers: $35 for tri-merge credit report.
Landlord training: $50.
