Description
Works to prevent and alleviate human suffering in the face of emergencies by mobilizing the power of volunteers and the generosity of donors.
Services include blood drives, volunteer training, coordination, health and safety courses, and 24 hour disaster relief and Armed Forces emergency services.
Sound the Alarm program provides and installs free smoke alarms in homes. Homes Made Safer program provides free, one-on-one home fire safety education to interested individuals and families. Education sessions are 15 minutes and teach about fire prevention tips, the importance of smoke alarms and fire extinguishers, and how to design an home fire escape plan.
Provides relief to people who have experienced a natural or man-made disaster. Disaster victims are provided food, clothing, and shelter to meet immediate needs. Disaster relief in this area is primarily for single-family house fires.
