Adoption and Foster/Kinship Care Support Groups, Foster Homes for Dependent Children, Foster Parent/Family Recruitment, Therapeutic Foster Homes

Description
Recruits, trains, and supports foster parents, including those providing therapeutic foster care.

- Works with kinship homes, traditional two parent homes, single parent homes, same-sex couples, and racially diverse homes.
- Offers 24-hour emergency support.
- Offers monitored visitation with birth family.
- Offers support from Licensed Social Worker and Mental Health professionals as well as case managers.
- Offers support groups and training to Foster Parents as well as respite (babysitting) if needed and assistance in all areas of care.
- Provides psychiatric services when needed.
- Practices "Normative Culture" which is based on all team members (foster families included) valuing and exhibiting four norms: Respect, Responsibility, Goal Directed Behaviors, and Safety (both emotional and physical).
- Provides practice and training in trauma informed and trauma sensitive environments and approaches.

Adults 21 years and older can become foster parents.
