Volunteer Database Associate

Purpose of Position:
To assist the Administrative Assistant and CRS staff with clerical and secretarial work necessary to provide information and referral services to Western New York residents.

Minimum qualifications:
A high school or equivalent diploma
Two years of office experience
Typing speed over 45 WPM
Ability to use typewriter and/or word processing equipment
Ability to take instructions well
Ability to answer phones in a pleasant manner
Ability to take careful messages
Ability to work independently on projects
Ability to present a professional appearance

Responsibilities:
To assist with typing
To assist with word processing
To answer phones and greet incoming guests
To assist with daily mail
To assist with bulk mailings
To assist with copying work
To assist with organizational/clerical work

Time Required:
Twenty Hours per week

Training Provided:
Training would be individualized depending upon the level of experience. Will train on office equipment, such as the copier, telephone system, computers & the postage meter.
Purpose of Position:
Assist the Database Associate and/or the Database Administrator in research, development and maintenance of the database(s)
and aid in related duties.

Minimum qualifications:
High school diploma or GED a must
Good clerical skills a must (filing is particularly important)
Good written and verbal communication skills
Knowledge of community services helpful
Some computer literacy helpful
Time management/organizational skills are extremently important

Responsibilities:
Assist in research of information for inclusion in database
Verify data for completeness and correctness
Assist with data entry
Responsible for maintaining all hard copy files
Assist in maintaining records/logs of system maintenance
Assist in preparing bulk mailings
Operate computer for various work functions
